The Code commenced for all universities. Compliance is a condition of Commonwealth funding.
1 Jul 2026
Civil penalties of up to A$330,000 per breach, compliance notices and injunctions begin to apply.
30 Jun 2027
First annual de-identified data return, covering the whole of 2026. You need to be collecting data now.
45 days
Business-day window to finalise a formal report, including discipline. Appeals within 20 business days.
